Assos Skharab Red Glasses

Skharab marks the introduction of a new category in the field of eye protection at ASSOS. Designed specifically for road and off-road racing, these glasses take elements of our Zegho glasses, such as the frame, the fully adjustable nose piece, and its lightness. However these are designed more for speed, protection and visual clarity on different terrains and in changing light conditions.

We’ve worked on the design with athletes from both disciplines, building prototypes with shapes that suit a variety of faces and helmets. The result of this work: a single wrap-around lens, offering an unobstructed field of vision in aggressive racing positions on and off-road. Contoured, aerodynamic temples hold the top corners of the lens together and sit above the ear for a soft, secure fit. The glass is impact resistant, very durable and is ultralight. The glasses are available in two versions: a photochromic version which adapts to changes in light, and a more basic version suitable for medium light conditions. Both versions offer full UV protection, accentuate contrast and improve visibility on the road or on the trails. Skharab glasses are designed in Switzerland, made in Italy and sold with a hard protective case and cleaning cloth.

• Skharab Lenses: A unique lens featuring a low profile aero shape, while retaining our signature rimless construction for unobstructed vision and an ultra-light feel. The glasses offer 100% UV protection, they are impact resistant and are made without bisphenol A.
• Pluto Gray: a gray photochromic lens that adapts to changing light conditions for added versatility. Light transmission: 77% – 17%. Light conditions: low to medium. Contrast: neutral. Initial color of the glass: transparent.
• National Red: a red shade ideal for high light conditions. Light transmission: 19%. Light conditions: high. Contrast: high. Initial color of the glass: transparent.
• Anti-fog treatment: all Skharab lenses have an anti-fog treatment on the back of the lens which ensures its clarity in all weather conditions.
• Temples: Made with a large contact surface against the glass for greater durability. The zeroPressure shape follows the curve of your head, and its finishes with elastomer inserts, textured and flexible, provide a light and secure fit.
• Nose pad: The fully adjustable nose pad is designed with our grippy clickFace elastomer material. This adapts to your nose to ensure a personalized and secure fit.
